Thanksgiving 2010
This Thanksgiving I decided to go beyond just snapshots of the family and try to really capture what goes into creating one of our family's Thanksgivings. Hope you enjoy.
I Am Coming Back...
I've made the decision to attempt a 365 starting in 2011. I have been all but ignoring this blog, although I don't ignore my photography.
Over the past year my photography has taken a shift. Lately, I have been spending more time working on portraits than on my nature photography. I never thought I would like taking portraits, but I do. And I can make more money at it...at least for now.
Focusing on portraiture is not enough for me. I need to get back to my roots. One way I am going to do this is by doing a 365. I am sure there will be some portraits without a year of pictures, but it will also force me to go back to nature shots, which is my original love.
I am really hoping to gain a lot of experience with a 365. I am excited and ready to start, but I know how much work one is. There are so many days where there just isn't enough time to really set up a shot or look for something interesting. This biggest problem, however, isn't finding time to take a picture, but finding the time to get them off my camera, onto the computer, then uploaded to a site. I am ready to do it. I know I will be loading pictures onto this blog, but am also toying with loading them onto my Facebook page and Flickr (but that's 3 times as much work, so...?). Luckily, Blogger has made it much easier to load large photos. I no longer need to go through a multi-step process to get large photos.
I'm hoping you will join me in this photographic journey through the year 2011.

Easter Portraits
I haven't been posting pictures on here because I realize I need to add a watermark if I don't want people using them without my permission. That, along with loading them onto photobucket first, takes a long time. I load all my pictures onto my photography website, Gifts of Nature Photography. It adds the watermark and doesn't require me to go through a multi-step process to get large pictures displayed.
Anyway...Here are a few of the Easter portraits I did for a friend.

Shells
My mother always lays out her eggshells to dry before feeding them to the chickens (they LOVE them). I'm not sure why she does this, but I loved the way they looked laid out like that.
New Photography Site
Sorry I haven't been posting photos. I have been working on my portrait photography and preparing to start a small photography business based on natural light photography. I will work on uploading some pics soon, but until then, feel free to check out my new photography web site.
